"Nell Proffitt joined the original “Library Board” in mid 1980s.  She continued to make significant contributions after the Board transitioned to become the Library Foundation."

"She was the interior designer for the 7000 sq. ft. library on Discovery Blvd.  During her 30 years' tenure, Nell had assisted in many of the Library Foundation's fundraisers and social events by providing artistic decorations which often garnered praises and admirations."
