Why The Library

Why the Cedar Park Library Matters

Libraries are where dreams take shape. Whether it’s diving into history, exploring new career opportunities, or connecting with others, the Cedar Park Public Library opens doors to endless possibilities—all free of charge.

Why Support the Library?

When you invest in the library, you invest in critical support for free literacy programs, lifelong learning, workforce development, and equitable access to resources for the thousands of adults, children, and youth of Cedar Park and the surrounding communities.

How We Help

How the Cedar Park Public Library Foundation Supports Our Community

At the Cedar Park Public Library Foundation, we go beyond baseline funding to ensure the Library has the resources it needs to meet the growing demands of our vibrant Central Texas community.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Cedar Park by supporting initiatives that inspire learning, foster creativity, and empower everyone in Central Texas to thrive.

Programs We Support

Through donor support, the Foundation funds programs and resources that make a lasting impact, including:

  • 📚 Books for Babies: Introducing young readers to a lifetime of literacy and discovery.
  • ☀️ Summer Reading Club: Keeping kids and teens engaged in learning during the summer months.
  • 🛠  MakerSpace: Providing hands-on STEM education and creative tools for all ages.
  • 🤝 Friends of the Library: Supporting community engagement through events and volunteerism.

Your Impact

Thanks to your generosity, we’re making a measurable difference:

  • In 2024, the Foundation proudly contributed $500,000 toward the new library as part of our Imagine the Possibilities campaign.
  • To date, we’ve reached 70% of our $1.5 million goal, funding:
    • 📖 Expanded book collections for in-demand titles.
    • 💻 Cutting-edge technology, including public computers and STEM kits.
    • 🖼️ Inspiring spaces and artwork for a welcoming, creative environment.

Bringing the Community Together

The Library is about more than just books—it’s a place for connection, collaboration, and celebration.

One of the highlights is our Haute Spot Concert Series, where laughter, music, and community spirit come alive.

Guests enjoy:

  • 🎶 Live Music: Setting the perfect tone for the evening.
  • 🎁 Raffle Items & Mystery Prizes: Adding excitement and surprise.
  • 🎉 Games & Fun Activities: Creating lasting memories with friends and family.

These events aren’t just about raising funds—they’re about building community, creating memories, and strengthening our shared commitment to literacy, learning, and connection.

Looking Ahead to 2025

This year, the Foundation is focusing on three key areas to expand the Library’s reach:

  1. 📖 Program Support: Enhancing literacy and learning opportunities through initiatives like Books for Babies and the Summer Reading Club.
  2. 📚 Expanded Collections: Growing traditional book collections and introducing innovative resources like the Library of Things, which      offers STEM kits and educational tools.
  3. 🌟 Community Outreach: Extending library programs and resources to ensure equitable access for everyone in Cedar Park and the surrounding communities.

Together, we’re ensuring the Library can continue to serve as a hub of innovation, learning, and connection for generations to come.
